Donna Flello

Certified Birth & Postpartum Doula

Hi! I'm Donna, a certified birth and postpartum doula serving families in Abbotsford, Langley, Surrey, White Rock, and the surrounding areas. Through Gentle Doula Services, I offer calm, continuous support through pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks at home, so you don’t have to navigate this season on your own.

My path to doula work is deeply personal. After the unexpected passing of one of my children, I felt a profound call to live with greater purpose and intention. Supporting families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum felt like a natural extension of my heart, a way to offer care, presence, and gentleness during life’s most tender moments.

With having over 40 years of experience caring for babies and supporting families, beginning long before my formal doula training. This lifelong connection to infants and early parenthood has shaped the way I support my clients, with patience, intuition, and respect for the emotional and physical transitions that come with welcoming a new baby.

I completed my doula training through the Douglas College Doula Training Program, where I studied pregnancy, birth, lactation, and postpartum care with a focus on supporting families in British Columbia. I am certified as both a birth and postpartum doula, hold CPR/AED Level C certification for adults, children, and infants, and am a certified postpartum mentor with Care for Women, a Fraser Valley program offering in-home emotional and practical support after pregnancy. This work deepens my experience with real‑life postpartum needs and strengthens my commitment to gentle, community‑rooted care. I am also a proud member of the Doula Services Association of BC.

As a doula, I am known for my calm and gentle presence. I especially enjoy supporting families who are feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or in need of steady reassurance. My role is to listen closely, offer non-judgmental emotional support, and share evidence-based information so you can make choices that feel right for you. I attend both hospital and home births (with a midwife present), and I support all kinds of births with the same respect and care.

I am also a mother of four, which includes a set of identical twins. This lived experience gives me firsthand understanding of how intense, beautiful, and overwhelming the transition into parenthood can be, and it informs the way I care for clients with empathy, flexibility, and compassion.

My hope is that when we work together, you feel truly supported, emotionally, physically, and practically, as you move through pregnancy, birth, and into your new life with your baby.

Let’s connect and discuss how I can help you feel confident, cared for, and empowered.
